The picture is taken by a technologist, while the radiologist would examine and read the picture for any changes. The result also depends on the density of the breast. you could follow these simple steps in getting a mammogram;

Pick a good time, it could be a week after your menstruation
Come prepared, wear a blouse you can easily remove. To obtain a good result, do not use anything on your underarms or breast such as lotion, deodorant, talcum powder or perfume.
Identify a certified facility that is used frequently.
